This stress-free challenge is adapted from our online program, called Nuad Thai Massage Program.
As you go through the stress-free challenge, you will experience a bit of what this full online program has to offer.
The first day of the Stress-Free Challenge is all about relieving stress by feet massage.
We like to invite you – challenge you actually – to make some time every day for this challenge during 5 days. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes a day. Every day we teach a part of the full massage, so if you would combine all days together, you have 1 full protocol of massage.

Here’s the breakdown of lesson 1
The massage we teach in lesson 1 is called Nuad Thai Massage on the mat. It’s also known as traditional Thai (yoga) massage.
What is Nuad Thai Massage?
Health benefits for both client & masseur
This massage therapy is based on manipulation of the joints, acupressure along the muscles and stretching of the muscles, with enormous health benefits for both client, but also for the masseur.
Different than other forms of massage
Nuad Thai massage is different than other forms of massage, because both masseur and client are constantly moving in yoga-like positions with Tai Chi movements. This is especially the case when performed in the original way: over the clothes on a mat on the floor.
Meditation & Flexibility
This is why not only the client but also the masseur becomes more flexible and is in meditation during the treatment.
Over 2500 years old
Nuad Thai massage is aimed at preventing ailments and improving overall health. This massage technique exists already for more than 2500 years. Originally it is done on the mat over the clothes and also widely known as traditional thai yoga massage.
Various massage disciplines
During the years Nuad Thai massage became popular worldwide and is now not only performed on a mat. You can also receive Nuad Thai massage on a chair or performed on the table. Mostly given as full-body massage over the clothes on the mat, Nuad Thai massage can also be given as foot reflexology massage.
What do you need?

- A partner: Find someone with whom you can follow the short lesson today, because we take turns: you will give the massage and after receive the massage
- Something to lie on: A massage mat, yoga mat, thick carpet or thick blanket
- Pillow
- Comfortable clothes: Wear clothes in which you can move freely (like long sports trousers & shirt with long sleeves & socks (you might become a bit colder while receiving the massage because you become more relaxed)
- If you cannot sit on your knees, then 2 extra cushions might be handy for support.
- Create a relaxed environment: switch off the TV, phone, dim the lights
By following the videos of the stress-free challenge you will notice that this massage therapy is based on manipulation of the joints, acupressure along the muscles and stretching.
However, this stress-free challenge is more focused on acupressure and less on yoga-like stretches. We do teach the yoga-like stretches on the mat, plus Nuad Thai Massage on the chair, on the table and foot reflexology. And since deep tissue & sports massage is mostly well-known in other areas of the world outside Asia, we do teach this technique as well during the full program, called Nuad Thai Massage Program.
For now, we just keep it simple: We teach you in lesson 1 an easy, short and effective foot massage to relieve stress.
Stress relief by foot massage
Acupressure massage and stretches on the feet are a powerful way to become relaxed. The stimulation on the nerve endings of the feet helps to change the response by our brain from being stressed to relaxed.
Or by using the scientific explanation: From sympathetic (when you are in a fight or flight mode) to parasympathetic (the part of the nerve system that controls the functions in our body when we are in a relaxed mode).
This massage is for anyone who loves to relieve stress and prevent your fascias from becoming worse. But also great for anyone with stiffness, this massage is a relief.
All you have to do is just find someone to massage, put on comfortable clothes, grab something to lie on, watch the video, follow our guidance and enjoy!
