Foundation of Thai Massage
This module will teach you how to give different Thai yoga massage treatments covering the front position (feet to face) on the mat. You’ll learn the concept of energy lines (SEN) and Yin/Yang. Moreover we’ll show you stretches, acupressure points, and proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet. Plus we teach you deep-focused abdominal (Hara) work. Upon completion you’ll be able to perform various effective 1 – 1 ½ hour Thai Yoga Massage Treatments on the mat.

Expands on the techniques learned in Level I to cover the Side, Back (Prone) and Sitting Positions. You’ll learn advanced yoga like stretching movements. Upon completion you’ll have a substantial foundation of the major positions of Thai Massage and can perform comprehensive 1 ½ to 3 hour Thai Yoga Massage Treatments on the mat.

Working with the reflex points on the feet which corresponds with each organ and system in the body. Emphasis is placed on a hands-on technique used to loosen up and relax the feet as well as to encourage the body to naturally restore its own healthy balance. You’ll learn the Thai-style application technique using a wooden reflexology stick.

DEEP TISSUE (SPORTS) MASSAGE
A massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Movement is slower than Classic Swedish Massage and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). Upon completion you’ll be able to perform an effective Deep Tissue (Sports) Massage of 1 to 1,5 hours on a table using oil.

You’ll learn basic anatomy and physiology, so you will have the knowledge to be able to determine the indications and contra-indications for the massage protocols.

The profession of ‘masseur’ in the Netherlands is not protected. You can start working as an independent masseur as soon as you have a work space and are registered at the Chamber of Commerce. Your certification also allows you to work at spa’s, wellness centers and yoga schools. There is a large demand for Nuad Thai massage therapists.
Even if you are not looking for a career switch, learning Nuad Thai Massage is a great idea. You will have a skill for life. Each country has its own rules about giving massage treatments. ITM is recognized as a training institute in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia and the Netherlands. ITM Thai Hand Amsterdam was founded by Manuel Luque Aguilera & Nicole Luque Aguilera – van Zurk.
We met in Thailand years ago while studying traditional Thai yoga massage. Since then we dedicate our lives to study and to teach the impact of acupressure massage and stretches on human tissue.
