Massage Therapist Manel Luque Aguilera:
Manel Luque Aguilera
Founder of ITM International Training Massage School Thai Hand Amsterdam and Berlin, since 2009.
From Spanish origin, he left his stressy corporate job as a marketing manager to dedicate his life after ‘learning the ancient way to be healthy’ to teach different traditional therapeutics massage techniques and give massage treatments to everyone interested around the world.
He followed the teacher training in the best awarded schools for massage in Thailand (International Training Massage School Chiang Mai, Chetawan Health Center, Wat Po Traditional Thai Medical School) and graduated from Tao Garden Medical Taoist hospital and school center, where he studied the technique of Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal therapy massage).
Being fascinated by the health benefits of Nuad Thai Massage, he still returns every year to Thailand to teach and study more.
Manel: ‘I am very passionate about massage, because I’ve seen the enormous health improvement on our clients and on myself. Plus being able to help others to become mentally and physically healthier and happier gives me a true happy feeling. It is a real blessing to be able to teach massage and give massage treatments.’
WHAT OTHERS SAY:

Fantastic massage, combining acupressure with passive stretches (Thai yoga massage). A masseur who is respectful, has shown passion for and pleasure in his work. I feel reborn and come back for sure.
Pleasant reception with tea and nice space to be in. The Thai Yoga Massage was amazing! It was also a nice introduction to this style of Thai yoga. Very detailed with many pressure points. I still feel the deep relaxation.
Well trained therapist. Great environment. I got a lot of relief from discomfort due to inflammation. I have already scheduled my next appointment.
The massage therapist was great. She put very careful attention and just the right amount of pressure at the right spots on my problematic body parts (shoulder, neck) which we have discussed before the treatment. Furthermore she treated the rest of the body, so I returned to my work in total relaxation. I will definitely come back!
Very professional massage Therapist! I had an abdominal massage yesterday and I would really recommend this; the abdomen is such an important part of your body that should receive attention much more often then is common in western society.
I walked in but floated out. Loved everything!
First time with Thai Hand and I had high expectations (had many Thai massages before): I cannot but express my satisfaction: it was great. Massage therapist/owner Manuel is very skilled and thorough and you can tell he learned from the best. He is passionate about his work and takes time to reflect afterwards. The Wat Po massage (deep acupressure and stretching) was actually quite painful, but I liked every bit of it (“enjoyable pain”). I’d really recommend this place if you want to shut out the hustle of everyday life and want to experience some rest and relaxation in a different way.

See you soon on the massage mat!

I am pregnant, can I get a massage?
First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! If you wish to get a massage during your pregnancy your best option is to go to a therapist specialized in pregnancy massage. Our massage therapists are able to give massage treatments to pregnant women. However, it is not our specialty. We, therefore, advise you to look elsewhere and come back to us after delivery. As a new-mother we are sure you would love our massage treatments and it is a very good idea for mothers of young children to treat themselves to massage treatments to stay fit and healthy. In the meanwhile, enjoy your pregnancy and soon your newborn!
Are there contra-indications for receiving a massage treatment?
A massage treatment can relieve many ailments, like: frozen shoulder, headache, migraine, back pain, ankle pain, stiff neck, abdominal pain, stress, insomnia, arthritis, knee-pain, menstruation cramps, high blood pressure and many more…
However, if you have a medical condition and are not sure if a massage treatment is something for you, please ask first advice to your physician who is treating you.
Before every massage treatment the massage therapist will have an intake with you to talk about your medical situation and you decide together which massage will be the best fit for you.
How can I expect to feel after a massage treatment?
How you feel after a massage treatment can differ from person to person and from time to time. Also it can depend on the type of treatment you had. We hear various comments after someone received a massage treatment. Here are some: ‘super relaxed’, ‘it was a bit painful sometimes, but now I feel much better than before the massage’, ‘I feel that I have been sleeping for many hours’, ‘a total deep meditation, finally I stopped worrying’, ‘I feel super energized!’
If you receive a treatment to reduce an ailment, the massage can feel somewhat painful at some points, because we are working on treating your ailment. So after the massage treatment you should feel much better and the pain of the ailment has reduced.
If you are stressed, you might feel very relieved, happy and relaxed after the massage treatment.
Just keep your body hydrated after the massage by drinking enough water or tea and don’t plan a heavy work-out directly after the treatment.
